FATHER PAT is the director of the Newman Center. He has served as a Campus Minister for the past 27 years and been at UB for 20 years! One of the most familiar faces at UB, he can be found in many places on campus: anatomy lab, the Union, sports events, lectures, and the Baldy walkway! He spends lots of time in his office talking to all kinds of members of the UB family as well as leading the Newman Center Team and ministering to the needs of the Newman Center Community. As he often says… “Call anytime!”
Katie Koch

Katie Koch is a Campus Minister at the Newman Center here at UB. Katie received her undergraduate degree from Gannon University in Communication Arts with minors in Theology and Fine Arts. While at Gannon, Katie was active with many different aspects of Campus Ministry. There, she served as a leader of several faith sharing and Bible groups and took part in multiple Alternative Break Service Trips. It was during this time that Katie really developed her heart for social justice. Katie is a native of Mars, Pennsylvania and grew up attending St. John’s Byzantine Catholic Church in Lyndora, PA. She currently lives in Buffalo with her husband, Ed. Katie is always excited to meet new people. Feel free to stop by her office and introduce yourself.
Debbie Moore

Debbie Moore has been an essential member of our staff since 2004! Throughout the building project, and now at home in our new building, as our office manager, Debbie has filled many roles. Debbie has been a consistent, welcoming and helpful presence over the years, familiar to our students, Newman Center alumni, and permanent community alike. In addition to juggling communications, getting the bulletin out every week. She schedules baptisms, masses, community service and other activities. She also handles handling the center’s bills and payroll. Debbie’s role has grown to include even more responsibility as the new building and it’s growing activities presents new challenges and opportunities.
We are honored to be among the first to welcome you to University at Buffalo! We hope that this site about opportunities to participate in your faith life during college will either inspire you to come to UB, or excite you about the years that await you in Buffalo. You will be among the first generation of UB students who will have a permanent sacred place for celebration of the Word, Sacraments, prayer, community building and so much more.
